Patience is a Virtue

So, my hubby and I got back from our honeymoon in Maui yesterday (and went straight to Graham's soccer game after 17 hours of traveling!). We were off of work today too and have been trying to catch up after being gone for a week. We had a great time. However, while being in Maui for a week can't be beat, it sucks trying to catch up with things - email, mail, putting wedding presents and wedding crap away, writing bills, changing my name on every legal thing I own, etc., etc. (Oh and I have homework to finish by Sat. which is stressing me out!) Back to reality, I guess. Be patient with me this week and I will post honeymoon pictures this weekend hopefully. Oh, and I think I will be able to give the link to our wedding pictures on our photographer's website. We saw a few of them up there last night. I guess they haven't posted all of them yet. In the meantime, you can check out a few of us on their blog:

(P.S. I'm not looking forward to catching up at work tomorrow after being out for 7 days!)

Love,
Dawn

Some Rehearsal and Wedding Pictures

These pictures are from my cousin, Christa. (Sorry, Amanda, your bridesmaid picture came out too dark so I don't have one to post at this point). Enjoy!

We did it!

Just a quick day after post to thank everyone for taking part in our wedding day. I can't believe the weather held out. When I was lying awake at 2 am the morning before the wedding, I prayed to God to ask him to just hold the rain off at least until the reception. He answered my prayers and I know we had a lot of others praying for us too! Thanks!

I keep telling Nathan that everything went off without a hitch. It's unbelievable. We had such a magical day and we are very blessed to have the family and friends that we do that helped make it so special for all of us. We tried our best to get around to at least say hi to everyone but it's so tough when there are that many people in attendance, you are pulled in different directions and you also just want to dance and enjoy the night. If we didn't get to talk to you long, we apologize and hope you understand. We also hope you enjoyed yourself.

I also can't believe I made it through the day without crying! I teared up as I was walking down the aisle but as I focused on Nathan, it was smooth sailing from there. I was a little nervous as we waited to start but I knew that once I got in there, I'd be OK and I was. Fr. Don did an excellent job officiating the ceremony and everyone from the readers, to our videographer, to our photographers, the DJ, the staff at Debonaire did awesome. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures on my own camera so I have none to post at this point. But we'll have some soon from friends I'm sure and I'll put those up here.

Today we are off to Nathan's parents house to open our gifts. Yay!!! I'm off of work tommorrow. But then I go back on Tuesday - Thursday. I'm off on Friday and then we are off to Maui (Poor Nathan has to work all this week). But then we are off the whole week for Maui and the Monday after we get back. Unfortunately, I have to do some homework on these days off. I go right from a wedding back into the Fall Cluster for my Masters degree. No down time for the weary!

Anyway, thanks again to everyone. We love you!

Love,
Dawn & Nathan MEYER :) (I like the sound of that!)

ONE FREAKIN' DAY!!!

Can you believe I have time to post on the day before my wedding? I can't! We've done a good job this week of getting stuff done early. Today I have to run to the grocery store for a few last minutes things for the rehearsal dinner and we are getting our manicures and pedicures. Nathan's actually playing golf right now. We did end up moving the rehearsal dinner to the community room at the complex where my mom lives. Out patio is a little flooded right now with the overnight rain. We got most of the reception hall done yesterday and Gail was going back this morning to finish up. We decorated the community room last night for the rehearsal dinner and actually turned a fugly room into something special. We even had time to go to dinner last night with the Holmes clan that came into town for the wedding. I haven't checked the forecast for tommorrow yet but if the rain can hold off at least until we are partying in the reception, that'd be fabulous!

Peace out!

Love,
Dawn

Rain, Rain Go Away!

So I'm actually feeling pretty good and not stressed out for the wedding this weekend (5 days, people!) but I am a little worried about the forecast! Not only do we need no rain on Sat. but we also need no rain on Friday since our rehearsal dinner is in our backyard! Say some prayers or do a no-raindance for us please!!!

Speaking of the backyard, Nathan's parents came over on Sat. to set up the canopys back there for the rehearsal dinner. They look awesome. (And it'd be a shame if it rains and its all for naught and everyone has to cram in our ugly basement!). My cousin, Christa, also gave me an early wedding present and gave me the longest and best facial I've ever had. It was so darn relaxing! If she could bottle everything that she did and sell it, she'd be a millionaire! Saturday night we went to dinner with Mike.

Sunday we went to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate Nathan's birthday, which is on the 9th. It was opening day of football so Nathan pretty much ate and watched football while the rest of talked! :)

I'm so excited that I only have to work today and Tuesday and then I am off until next Tuesday. I need a serious break from my job!

I'll try to post some pictures from the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner next week. And in case I don't have time to post tomorrow or the rest of the week, HAPPY 29TH BIRTHDAY TO MY FUTURE HUSBAND & WE'LL SEE YOU ALL AT THE WEDDING THIS WEEKEND!!!! (Rain or shine!)

Love,
Dawn

Dawn & Graham

the bear

Me & Graham

Hi everybody!
This might be a little disappointing to some of you, but Dawn is busy right now watching Gossip Girl. So you are stuck with me, the total package, or as most of you know me Nathan. I don't know if I'm as good at this as Dawn but I'll try.

We had a very relaxing weekend. A good friend of mine (Craig) has some land in Macon, MO and we went up there with him, his wife(Lori), one of their sons (Kevin), Craig's sister (Keri), and her son (Jon). We really needed some good r&r and this was the perfect opportunity. We rode the
four-wheelers, sat by the campfire, made s'mores, drank a few cocktails, fished, shot high powered rifles, and really just relaxed for once. It seems like we never get to do that anymore. If I'm not working (which is very rare lately) we always have something to do for the wedding. As some of you might know Dawn was very timid about going up there. I think she got it in her mind that it was some backwoods, log cabin, no a/c, dirt floor, sleeping bag kind of thing. But once she got there it wasn't that bad. It's an actual house. With a/c. There was a kitchen, food, beds, t.v., dish network, and alcohol. Good people. Good times.

We got home Monday afternoon and Mama Dawn came over and colored Dawn's hair. Then I BBQ'd some burgers for dinner. And we had a relaxing Labor Day. Except the fact that the Cardinals blew a 5-1 lead and lost to the stinkin' D-Backs. FRUSTRATING!!!!!!! But I guess you still have to love them. I don't know why, but it's like engraved in our DNA.
So I don't know if next week you'll get me again or you'll get Dawn. But it's been fun talkin' at ya.
